Principles of entrepreneurship

As a building company CEI-De Meyer aims first of all at profitability to ensure its continuity.

In addition, CEI-De Meyer wants to assume responsibility for its impact on society (people) and the environment and create also economic value (margin).

In other words we wish to assume our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The following principles of entrepreneurship are the basis of our Corporate Social Responsibility policy.

People – To treat employees, building partners and society respectfully.

1. Towards our employees

  • a. We pledge that they will work only in safe and healthy working conditions
  • b. We pledge to require of each employee that he/she carriers out his/her professional activities in an honest and open manner and the he/she does not betray the confidence that the company places in him/her by placing his/her own interest above those of the company.
  • c. We pledge to pursue a personnel policy in which :

    i. no distinction is made on the basis of race, colour, age, gender or sexual inclination;

    ii. the employees work is compensated in a fair and open way;

    iii. it offers our employees the best opportunities for development via coaching and education;

    iv. an employee is offered outplacement facilities in case of failure or redundancy.

2. Towards our building partners, clients, subcontractors and suppliers

  • a. We pledge to build structures that correspond to the agreed quality and within the agreed period.
  • b. We pledge to require of our building partners, clients, subcontractors and suppliers that they meet the same safety standards as those that we set for our own employees.

3. Towards society

We pledge to give thought to and take action on behalf of underprivileged groups.

Environment – To assume our responsibility for future generations.

We pledge to

  • a) Encourage via our car policy the use of vehicules with restricted CO2 emission;
  • b) Sort whenever possible all waste materials in offices and on worksites;
  • c) Use whenever possible recycled paper and make recto-verso copies;
  • d) Equip whenever possible our offices and site offices with energy-saving installations.

Margin – To create economic value.

  • We pledge to execute our activities in accordance with the current ethical, professional and legal standards.
  • We aim at stimulating permanent solutions where economic, environmental and social interests are in balance.

The aforesaid principles of entrepreneurship will be translated in concrete actions where the managements example and commitment will be the basis for achieving this objective.
